Paper Passionista benefits from printer's accident with business cards

Funny how things happen sometimes. Remember my telling you in a post recently that Honeysuckle (a vibrant pink) is the Pantone color of 2011?  I just ordered my new engraved business cards for Paper Passionista and the paper color was supposed to be Berry.  This is a color close to a magenta.  Well, the alleged new cards arrived this week and when I opened them they're beautifully engraved, but on paper that is what the vendor calls Fuchsia. Quite coincidentally it looks VERY much like what Pantone calls honeysuckle.  My vendor, William Arthur, who is not known to make mistakes normally, is embarrassed and quickly responding, reprinting the cards stat for me on the Berry paper. They're showing good responsive customer service in correcting their mistake, but I have 1000 engraved "honeysuckle" cards to hand out too.  We'll call this trendy by accident!

With New Years eve coming up in three days, and reflecting back on the memories of when my own beloved, Jim O'Donnell, proposed to me that very night in 1987, I thought it very timely to share with you a real treasure. While reading a blog update this morning from Bridal Tweet, the Engaged Wedding Community, Paper Passionista came across the most "engaging" and creative wedding proposal, fashioned after The Muppets, that was created and shown on Youtube earlier this month. If you're addicted to romance and sweet stories you will absolutely love this! I can't wait to send it to my friend, Emerson Robbins, owner of EE Robbins, the engagement and wedding ring store.  He published a book of proposal stories and this one should be included if there is ever a second edition. 

This proposal video was played in an actual movie theater in New Hampshire as part of the trailers that run at the beginning of a movie, with the unknowing bride-to-be present in the audience. The man behind this gem, and the groom to be, is Sid Ceaser of Sid Ceaser Photography. Each year those of us who work with and worship color look forward to hearing what the new "It" color will be for the coming year.  As of today I have learned, through an announcement by Pantone, LLC, the world's color authority, that the 2011 color of the year is Honeysuckle!  This vibrant reddish pink color is sure to be a favorite as it has great intensity and feels good.  I'm sure we'll see this color be featured in fashion, but for the Paper Passionista, seeing it in print is going to be FUN!!!!  Get your creative juices flowing and let's create some wonderful invitations and stationery in the coming year.  Thank you, Pantone!
