This beautiful Arabella Papers invitation is as easy to order as Skyping with a "friend"
This past weekend, Paper Passionista launched a new method of conducting "in person" Invitation and Stationery consultations, via Skype. This came about when the talented Lacey Yantis of Visions of Romance photography contacted me to see if we'd be open to the idea of working with one of her 'out of the area' clients needing help with her wedding invitations. I embraced this idea with excitement because this is something I'd been thinking could be a possibility for quite some time, but had not had the opportunity to give it a try.
Lacey, and her husband, social media whiz Aaron Blank, President of the Fearey Group, agreed to do a trial call with me the day before the real call, and we had an orientation and worked through how the logistics of the call would fall into place. Aaron quickly showed me tips and tools to best share my invitations. Then the next day it was "show time". The bride, a busy doctor being married in Key West, Florida, filled out our pre-appointment questionnaire so I had all the information about her wedding I needed to be prepared with what to present for her options. I couldn't have imagined the call going any better. The visual tool of Skype allowed me to share thoughts and photos with her of the options best suited to her wedding, we went through layout ideas, paper color and ink combos, and logistics. Serious contenders included options from Bella Figura, SMOCK Paper, and Arabella Papers. 40 minutes later we were done, with her ideal invitation choice finalized.
I got a note from the bride, Beth, yesterday proclaiming how much fun she had during our "meeting", and she's now looking forward to filling in the blanks with wording for her invitation as soon as she's finalized the time of her February, 2013 wedding at a Waldorf Astoria property in Key West, FL. We'll chat again then by Skype and get all the etiquette questions and wording of items completed. In the mean time, Beth has the peace of mind of knowing exactly what she'll be doing for her invitations - a beautiful ribboned pocket design from Arabella Papers (not the one shown above, because of course we'll be customizing something special just for Beth) - and she didn't even have to leave the comfort of home to make this happen - nor did I!
If you're being married, or have a friend doing so, and need a convenient and easy way to shop for and order your wedding invitations, send me us an email: info@paperpassionista.com, and we'll get something scheduled. Shopping for invitations has never been so easy! It doesn't matter if you're on the opposite corner of the country, just as Beth was. We'll have fun....REALLY!! And later this year - get your holiday cards via Skype.
